Title: Wallets 101
Post by: dbreezew on Jan 06, 2026, 08:54 AM
Do not attempt to create a wallet unless you have pencil and paper ready.

Do not create a wallet if you do not have virus protection on your device.

Take your time through the process to be sure you catch the passphrase when the system gives it to you. Write it down. Any digital storage of that passphrase carries risk.

Never use that passphrase anywhere you're not 100% certain it's safe.

What I will do is create a compatible wallet on one of the exchanges and use it for any transactions I might try. My migration wallet will only be used to transfer limited amounts to exchange wallets or other Pi Network wallets if it's possible.
Transferring coins from my migration wallet to my usage/exchange / alternative wallets will be the only place I ever use my migration wallet passphrase.

Handle the scammer situation however you see fit, but you've got to handle that situation....
